About this hunt
ROMANIA • 3 days hunting for one representative Carpathian Chamois; Game Fee reduction on ± age class or CIC measurement, see Game Fee rates. • Hotel accommodation is subject to the number of hunting days and level of accommodation required by guests. • The hunting package price is subject to the itinerary outset (i.e. airport transfer or own transport), further quarry species game fees, and the level of hotel / lodge accommodation guests require (as stated above) Carpathian chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra carpatica) - is arguably a distinct chamois species being the largest chamois both in body mass and horn size. We hunt the highest Carpathian mountains peak of Moldoveanu, Munții Făgăraș. The Chamois are the ballet dancers of the mountain cliff edges, passing up mountain slopes that look inaccessible, leaping from ledge to precipice, balancing on the tiniest of ridges - living their lives in alpine and sub-alpine meadows habitats above the timberline, wintering on steep slopes or flatter forested terrain where snow does not accumulate.

The hunting area is located in Făgăraș mountains, around Moldoveanu peak (the highest peak in Carpathian Mountains) and they have the highest number of chamois in Romania and also the highest number of tags per season, 32 tags. • The mountains are heavily glaciated, with lakes, fretted peaks, and morainic deposits. • Up to 1000 m altitude, is predominately beech forests while above this level, Fagus sylvatica is mixed with coniferous species, particularly with Abies alba and Picea abies. On the northern slope of Făgăraş Mountains, above 1200 m, beech and the others deciduous species start to disappear, being replaced by spruce forests.
