My hunting guide, Ewan, was so good he can spot that deer a mile away with just 3 inches of its antlers sticking out from the bushes. He also has a very good judgement on where the best place to settle and stalk the deer for a good kill shot. That rifle that he let me used was top-notch accurate. Very impressive. He was able to get the video footage of the actual shot I did using his spotting telescope and his iPhone. What a day. Accommodation was also luxurious with beautiful lake and Mountain View. Ewan’s wife cooked a delicious meal for us every dinner I was making a short film for myself and Ewan was kind enough to go back to the hunting site so I can reenact the footages that I was missing. What a guy, thanks E!

I have always wanted to hunt New Zealand but never really knew where to start. I had talked to a few places at some local hunting shows but nothing I felt comfortable with booking. Upon searching online I came across New Zealand Trophy Hunting and after a couple messages and phone calls knew it was the one. Joy was very informative and up on getting everything organized. Tim was an awesome guide and very knowledgeable of the animals and hunting area. Tim was able to put me on some very nice animals. Joy and Tim are an awesome team and New Zealand Trophy Hunting is in great hands. Im not sure who enjoyed the hunt more Tim or myself which speaks volumes for a guide to me. I cant wait to return for fallow and tahr.

Assume hunt, From the first contact with Joy to getting dropped off by Tim. They were both amazing people. Hunting out of the tin shack at the foothills and chasing tahr was on my bucket list for years. The service they provided were second to none! We saw lots of animals and both my hunting partner and I were successful in our hunt. Thanks Joy and Tim – We will be back!

Really there was nothing that sticks out that was not fun or enjoyable! Airlines lost my hunting gear on the way out there but Joy took the time with the airline and we had it on the next flight which only delayed us 2 hours and no hunting time.

Free range Tahr

The free range Tahr hunt in the southern Alps was the full experience I was looking for. Accommodations were excellent from the alpine cabin in the mountains to the lodge for the fallow deer hunt. Tim, my guide was knowledgeable, and took care of everything. Food was great, scenery was great! Lots of animals in the valley we hunted.

Booking was an absolute breeze thanks to Joy & Tim was super accommodating for my hunt. Anything and everything I wanted to tackle in my 4 day hunt was taken care of and more! I’ve never had so much fun in my life. As a Canadian using thermal gear and spotlights was really cool and I couldn’t get enough we hunted day and night, Tim had top of the line equipment ensuring no target was walking away. My hunt was jammed pack with action with a ram, goats/wallabys/deer/hares/possums/boars. I can’t wait to come back for years to come.

My face hurts from smiling from smiling the whole time during the hunt/stay with New Zealand Trophy Hunting.

We did a variety of hunting. Free Range , hiking , helicopter , and preserve. Guide was knowledgable and worked hard. My wife went and stayed in a town with a lot to dip while I was gone. Highly recommend Ewan. Any questions please reach out to me.
