About hunting in Cordoba
"The wingshooting capital of the world", Córdoba offers second-to-none high volume dove and pigeon hunting, as well as diverse landscapes and other attractions. Mehr erfahren...
The Argentinean province of Córdoba is one of the most iconic hunting destinations in the world. For many hunters the name of the province and "high volume dove shooting" mean exactly the same thing. The central and western parts of the province are dominated by the Sierras de Córdoba, a series of low mountain ranges with valleys and fertile land. The eastern part of the province is part of the Pampas, characterized by flat, agricultural land. The grain fields provide pigeons and doves with unlimited nutrition, and with few natural predators their numbers reach such levels that they literally cover the sky when they fly! Ammunition here is counted by the case, not by the box, but, as one of the many paradoxes of conservation, large numbers of hunting harvest only benefit the population. Doves are seen as pests, and without revenue from hunting operations the farmers would've got rid of them via more efficient indiscriminate methods. In addition to doves, Córdoba's diverse landscapes support a variety of plant and animal life. In the Sierras de Córdoba, you'll find woodlands and shrublands with native species such as quebracho, algarrobo, and carob trees. Wildlife in Córdoba includes red and fallow deer, mouflon, blackbuck, wild boar, a number of feral animals, and even dangerous game - water buffalo. International travelers typically fly into Buenos Aires and then take a domestic flight to the Ingeniero Ambrosio Taravella International Airport in Córdoba City. The province is also well-connected by road and offers scenic drives through the Sierras de Córdoba. Beyond hunting, Córdoba offers diverse activities like hiking and trekking in the Sierras, exploring historical Jesuit missions (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and enjoying the vibrant cultural life of Córdoba City. The province is also known for its beautiful lakes and rivers, ideal for fishing, boating, and other water sports. In summary, Córdoba Province, with its unique combination of geography, abundant wildlife, and cultural attractions, is a premier destination in Argentina for bird hunters and outdoor enthusiasts.
