Honey badger hunting in Tanzania {{ totalToursString }}
Honey Badgers have a very thick black pelt with a grey back running down to its tail. They have short, stout legs with strong claws used for digging and breaking open old rotten logs. Honey can climb trees to get to beehives and will also feed off leopard baits.
Honey badgers are found countrywide from the high rainfall areas to the dryer areas of Masailand.
Honey Badgers are diurnal in the winter month and nocturnal in summer. They are solitary hunters and will trot long distances to locate food. Whilst foraging they keep their heads close to the ground sniffing out potential food sources. Honey Badgers are well known for their immunity to snake and scorpion venom. Snakes, scorpions and honeycombs with their grubs all form part of their diet.
Classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN, no import or export CITES permits are required. However, a repurchased Tanzanian hunting license is required before you may shoot a specimen.
