Honey Badgers may be hunted as a trophy of opportunity when you bump into an animal and you are not busy on a walk and stalk. If you specifically want to hunt a Honey Badger, you need to prearrange with your Outfitter to pre-bait an area much the same way as you would for a Leopard hunt. Baiting for Badgers is normally the most successful way to hunt a Badger. In some instances Honey Badgers are shot while baiting for other predators, like Lions and Leopards. This form of baited hunt is the best method to use for a bow hunters.

Why hunt Honey Badger?

Also known as a “ratel”, these feisty no nonsense beasts have serious attitudes and not scared of anything. They can also be hunted out of frustration when sitting in a Leopard blind night after night and the only visitor to the bait being a pesky Badger who will not allow your Leopard anywhere near your bait. They make great full mounts and conversation pieces about their exploits along with all the folk law stories that go with them.
