Cheetah hunting in Zimbabwe
We found 1 hunt
Cheetahs are known for their athleticism and speed. This slender predator can reach phenomenal speeds ranging from 80 to 128 km/h (50 to 80 mph) over a short distance.
Zimbabwe is one of only two countries that permits Cheetah hunting. The main Cheetah populations can be found in the Hwange National Park, Zambezi Valley and Zimbabwe Lowveld regions.
This diurnal species are most active at sunrise and sunset during which time they more often than not do their hunting. During these hunts, they are known to expend great energy and after a successful takedown, they need to eat their fill very quickly as their meal is often stolen by other predators and vultures.
Cheetahs are listed as a CITES 1 species.
