Brooks Range Grizzly Hunt Alaska, United States

The Grizzly Bear (Ursus arctos) is the smaller inland cousin of the Brown Bear. The Grizzly’s in my area are mountain dwellers in the true sense. Most bears that we take are in the 6 ½ to 7 ½ foot range. Due to the lack of protein and very short growing season, these Grizzly Bears are not able to reach the massive size of the bears in southern parts of the state. These bears depend mainly on berries, roots, ground squirrels and the occasional dead caribou for food. They are plentiful yet can be challenging to hunt. Like the Brown Bear, they have an amazing sense of smell and surprisingly acute eye sight. An Arctic Grizzly is a truly beautiful animal that you will have to see to fully appreciate. Hunt method for Grizzly is almost all spot and stalk. We also hike up and down the valleys looking for them in areas where the habitat is likely to hold a bear. The best way is to sit on a hill overlooking a small valley with plenty of berry bushes and watch for bears. HUNT DATES: August 7 - 19 and August 19 -30 Caribou may be taken on a trophy fee basis. $4500 + Tag fee Dall Sheep may also be added for Trophy fee + tag fee GrizzlyTag: $1000 for non-residents, $1300 for non-resident aliens Charter fee: $2000 payable to the Air Charter company in Cold Foot Hunters may take wolf at no charge plus tag fee Tag: $60 for non-residents, $100 for non-resident Aliens

Grizzly Bear on 1x1, Aug 19-26, 2019 Alaska, United States

We have a nice variety of color phases in Grizzlies from blond highlights with dark legs to chocolate browns to silver tips. The Arctic Grizzly is also considered to be a Barren Ground Grizzly. Our Grizzly bear hunts are perfect to combine with a moose hunt. We have harvest some great trophy moose in the same areas as the grizzly with the racks between 55 and 70 inches. The moose hunts are normally done by jet or drift boat and calling the moose in for close shots. Ask us about a combo moose grizzly hunt, it is a great way to make the most of a Alaska hunting trip. We use the most up to date and proven equipment, gear, and supplies and provide our hunters with detailed information and gear list in the months prior to their hunt. Every detail matters to us and we take extra care to provide an incredible and memorable hunt. Obtaining Tags and License please visit the State of Alaska Website (http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=hunting.main) for the needed tags and license(s). Trophy fees are to be paid one month prior to trip to the US office or Outfitter where they will be held until completion of the hunt and either kept by Outfitter for successful harvest of animals or returned to client within 10 days for any non-harvest of an animal. All species hunted or potentially hunted should be confirmed and paid for prior to arrival at camp to our US office.

10 Day Grizzly/Caribou Combo on 1x1 Alaska, United States

The 10 day Grizzly/Caribou hunt will be booked as a medium difficulty backpack hunt on 1x1. We will plan on being in areas of less exposure to weather. Spike camp will be carried by the client and guide, usually on a through-hike (not coming out the same way they went in). The clients will need to be in top physical and mental shape. In the Arctic, one guarantee is by mid-September the mountain creeks have begun to freeze (if not already), storms have became more violent and higher elevation air strips are threatened by snow. Temperatures are generally in the 20 to 45 degree range. Along with the storms comes poor visibility, high river crossings and delayed travel. These times are mentally challenging for most hunters. Good Kavik Camp communication and high quality gear while in Spike Camp allows us to be patient and comfortable while waiting for better weather. During the later hunts, there are definitely fewer people out and about resulting in less traffic in the main valleys. Also animals seem to start moving out of high elevation areas that they have been in most of the summer and travel into transition areas lower down in elevation. Our packs will be approximately 60 lbs each. This will allow the guide to carry additional 100 lbs of game meat out and the hunter with 50 lbs of cape and horns. Air support will be utilized for pick up on a braided gravel bar of at least 500 ft. with a good approach. Hunting License and tags not included in above prices. Our company sells tags but you can also purchase at http://www.adfg.alaska.gov. For an additional fee of $3000 you can request your own packer to aid with your entire hunt. We have full time butcher to cut, grind and vacuum seal your game. Additional species on a trophy fee basis while on the hunt.
