White springbok hunting in Namibia
We found 2 hunts
White Springbuck is not a true albinistic colour variant of a Common Springbuck. This medium-sized gazelle is also not a subspecies but a colour phase of the South African (Common) Springbuck. They have dark facial stripes and eyelashes. Like all Springbuck, they have a fold of skin on their back that opens to reveal a length of fanned hair, which is often displayed when pronking or when excited.
White Springbok hunting opportunities are limited to a few game ranches in Namibia. Due to their colour, predation is high on White Springbok with their poor camouflage capabilities.
Both sexes carry horns, with the White Springbuck reputed to have the smallest horns of the four SCI-recognized Springbuck. Collectors often hunt the three (White, Black, and Copper) recognized SCI colour variant species and a Common Springbuck that form the Springbuck Grand Slam.
Springbuck can be hunted during the Namibian hunting season. White Springbuck is classified as a Common Springbuck by the IUCN and a species of least concern. No special hunting permits are required.
