Red Stag bowhunting during the rut

There are few hunting experiences quite like chasing roaring Red Stags during the rut. September and October are without doubt my favourite months on the finca, with mature stags roaring throughout the valleys and constantly moving in search of hinds. Our main focus during the rut is spot-and-stalk bowhunting. We use the roars to locate mature stags, study the wind and terrain, and work our way into bow range. It can be frustrating, challenging, and incredibly rewarding, which is exactly what makes it such a fantastic hunt. We also have ground blinds and treestands available depending on conditions and the hunter's preferences. A typical day starts before sunrise with a quick breakfast before heading into the mountains. We hunt through the morning, return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest, and head out again for the afternoon until last light. All our guides are experienced bowhunters themselves, and we take great pride in offering a personal hunting experience tailored to each client.
