Mountain Lion Hunting In Idaho, mountain lion hunting begins on 2 December but is largely dependent on a good snow pack. This is why we do not offer our mountain lion hunting packages until early January. During the hunts, our guides track down cat tracks while riding on snowmobiles and use training hunting dogs to track down and tree the cats. In addition to Mountain Lion hunting, we, encourage hunters to take Idaho bobcats or gray wolves to help keep nuisance predators in check. All of our Mountain Lion hunting packages are 5 days in length, but we can add days at an additional cost. Our Mountain Lion hunts are in rugged terrain and will require clients to hike in the snow. Our hunting area is not as rugged or steep as Montana or Colorado, but we do recommend clients are capable of hiking a short distance to have a successful Mountain Lion hunt. Our Mountain Lion Hunting Packages are available on a first-come / first-serve basis. Space is limited. Clients will be provided transportation to and from Spokane International Airport, if required, at no extra charge. Accommodations during the Mountain Lion Hunting season are in cabins located near Avery, ID. This 2-bedroom cabin is rustic with a fireplace, satellite TV, a full kitchen, bath, and laundry.
