Livingstone Elenantilope jagen

Eland are the largest antelope in Africa with the Livingstone Eland being somewhat bigger than the Cape Eland. Livingstone Eland with its faint white stripes are classified as a subspecies of the Eland family, mostly hunted as a free range animal in Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique and now also introduced to many game ranches in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia. Due to its mobility and moderate numbers where it occurs as a free range animal, it can make for a difficult hunt in the dry bushveld habitats if prefers.

Always ensure you are well organised with plenty of water for a long demanding day in the field when conducting a traditional track and stalk hunt for Livingstone Eland. Sometimes you may get lucky and surprise a nice bull while hunting other game, so always be ready for an opportunistic shot. Look for fresh spoor early in the morning and the follow your PH and trackers as they take up the spoor in an effort to catch up to your intended quarry. These wandering animals can cover great distances in their search of suitable food and water. Make sure of your first shot and always be ready for a back-up shot.
