Crocodile hunting in Zambia

We found 1 hunt
Crocodiles, feared by some and worshipped by others are large cold-blooded prehistoric aquatic reptiles. These cunning predators are responsible for many human deaths in Zambia. In the past, they were nearly hunted into extinction in certain regions by Crocodile Hunters. Crocodiles are found throughout the country, especially in the major rivers, like the Zambezi, Kafue and Luangwa Rivers. Crocodiles have an acute sense of hearing, making them difficult to hunt. At the sound of an approaching vehicle or hunters, they will dive into the safety of the water. Most Crocs are hunted from a temporary hide built on the shore, either over bait or by a stakeout where a suitable size Crocodile has been seen basking during the day. Hunting a Crocodile requires import and export CITES permits from both Zambia and the country to which the trophy will be exported.
