Where to hunt Salt's Dik-Dik
Salt’s Dik-dik, with their elongated snout, are easily recognisable. Even the literature and experts cannot agree on the number of different Dik-dik species classifications. They prefer more habitats than just the semi-arid regions like most species in this group. They are found in the countries Eritrea, Sudan, Somalia and hunted in Ethiopia.

When to hunt Salt's Dik-Dik?
Ethiopia has no fixed hunting season. The best time to hunt in the country is between October and June.

Salt’s Dik-dik is a shy nocturnal animal, thus avoiding the midday heat. They are found in pairs or small groups and prefer to inhabit the cold to temperate climates as opposed to their close relatives. They have adapted to these climates by having a slow basal metabolic rate. Like all Dik-dik’s they are browsers and males will flare their crests as a sign of dominance. They are best hunted early in the morning by a slow walk and stalk through their preferred habitat.

Salt’s Dik-dik, with their elongated snouts and big round eyes, make for a challenging hunt. Due to the small size, they do not take up much room in a display room and make great full mounts.
