Monkey hunting in Tanzania {{ totalToursString }}
Two subspecies of Monkeys occur in Tanzania, namely Vervet and Blue Monkeys.
Blue Monkeys are also known as Samango Monkeys or Syke’s Monkeys and a few other names. The IUCN lists them as Blue Monkeys. Colours vary between geographical locations. Although called Blue Monkeys, these Monkeys are not noticeably blue. Apart from the dark face, they are mainly an olive-grey colour and are only found in forested areas.
Vervet Monkeys have black faces and are olive-silvery grey. They are most commonly found in the savannahs and spend a great deal of their time foraging on the ground. This medium to large size Monkey usually walks with tailed raised and the tip pointing downwards.
All Monkeys require a CITES permit that must be prearranged before the hunt begins.
