The Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship (Województwo kujawsko-pomorskie) is situated in the north-central part of Poland. The northern part of the Voivodeship consists of the historic Pomerania region, which is more forested and lake-rich as compared to the southern Kuyavia region, known for its fertile plains. The Bory Tucholskie National Park, although mostly in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, extends into Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, offering a haven for a variety of wildlife and serving as a crucial ecological area. This part of Poland is characterized by a varied landscape, that features a mixture of agricultural lands, forests, and lakes, and includes the valleys of the Vistula and Noteć rivers and the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Lakeland. Mixed forests comprise pine, spruce, oak, beech, and birch. The lakeland and river valleys are rich in unique aquatic and marsh plants. Forests and agricultural lands provide shelter and food for a range of typically European wildlife, including red deer, roe deer, fallow deer, wild boar, and smaller mammals like hares and foxes. In terms of avian fauna, the region's lakes and wetlands are important for bird migration and serve as habitats for countless ducks and geese. The Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship is a region steeped in history, with a variety of natural and cultural attractions, and provides excellent hunting opportunities as well. Hide details
