Eland hunting in Mozambique {{ totalToursString }}
The only Eland found in Mozambique is the Livingstone’s Eland, named after the great explorer and missionary, David Livingstone. Livingstone Eland are larger than the Cape Eland found in South Africa and their coat is reddish-brown with vertical white stripes on the torso, and they have a prominent dewlap and a thick neck mane.
The majority of Livingstone Eland occurs north of the Zambezi River. As one of Africa's largest antelopes, they possess an awe-inspiring presence, and their strength and grace evoke a deep sense of reverence. Hunters often express a strong connection with nature during these expeditions, gaining a newfound appreciation for the delicate balance of life in the wild and the importance of conservation efforts to preserve such extraordinary species.
Livingstone Eland, one of three Eland subspecies is classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN and can be hunted on license in Mozambique.
