Southeastern Ibex bowhunting rut

There is something very special about hunting Spanish Ibex with a bow. The steep mountains, rocky outcrops, and incredible ability of these animals to navigate difficult terrain make getting within bow range of a mature billy a real challenge. What makes our South Eastern Ibex hunting particularly unique is that we hunt them in the same mountains as our Red Stag, Fallow Deer, Mouflon, and Wild Boar. You never quite know what you might encounter around the next corner. We may spend the morning stalking a mature Ibex, only to come across a beautiful Mouflon ram or an old Red Stag along the way. It is this variety and unpredictability that makes hunting on our finca so exciting. Our preferred method is spot-and-stalk bowhunting. We spend time glassing the mountainsides for mature billies before studying the wind and terrain to plan our approach. Rocky ridges, deep valleys, and natural cover offer some fantastic stalking opportunities, but getting into bow range is never easy. A typical day starts before sunrise with a quick breakfast before heading into the mountains. We hunt through the morning, return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest, and head out again in the afternoon until last light. All our guides are experienced bowhunters themselves and understand the patience and skill required to take an Ibex with a bow.
