Where to hunt Jackson's Hartebeest
Jackson’s Hartebeest is a relatively large African antelope. The eight subspecies of Hartebeest, sometimes referred to as Kongoni in East Africa, are scattered across the continent. Some Hartebeest species also hybridise which creates further confusion within this antelope species group. For instance, a crossbred Lelwel and Coke’s Hartebeest is called Jackson’s Hartebeest and can only be hunted in Uganda.
Распределение цен
Jackson’s Hartebeest can only be hunted on a 10 -21 day safari with daily rates ranging from $2,100 – 2,500 per day. Trophy fees are in the region of $3,500.
When to hunt Jackson's Hartebeest?
Jackson’s Hartebeest can only be hunted during the Ugandan hunting season, which opens on 1 July and closes on 31 December. Their behaviour is not greatly affected by a change in the seasons, but an abundance of food usually stimulates mating activity, making old and mature animals easier to identify and approach. Light rains can be expected in November and December so try to avoid this time if planning a safari.
