Duiker hunting in Zambia

The Duikers are well represented in Zambia, from the largest to the smallest of the Duiker species and from the Bush Duiker to the Forest Duiker groupings. The following Duiker groupings occur in Zambia: Southern Bush Duiker Group – Steinhardt’s Bush Duiker Angolan Grouping – Angola Bush Duiker East African Bush Duiker Grouping – Nyasa Bush Duiker Blue Duiker Group – North Eastern Rhodesian Blue Duiker and Simpson’s Blue Duiker. Forest Duiker Group – Angolan Yellow Backed Duiker. Forest Duiker hunting can be one of the most taxing of all hunts taking you into some of the most inhospitable jungles and forests. Hunting in these areas normally involves a lot of bending, ducking and diving under overhanging branches with some hunters referring to this as lumbago ally. The largest of the Duikers, the Yellow Backed Duiker and the smallest, the Blue Duiker both require CITES permits.
