Chobe Bushbuck hunting in Namibia
Мы нашли 1 охоту
Chobe Bushbuck are the only subspecies of Bushbuck that occur in Namibia. Their distribution is limited to the suitable habitat areas found along the Chobe, Zambezi and Okavango Rivers as well as the Linyanti wetlands of the northern Okavango Delta.
Chobe Bushbuck must be one of the most strikingly beautiful Bushbuck with their bright chestnut-coloured coats and very distinctive white stripes and spots on their flanks and haunches. They are most active at night, often found far from the safe refuge of the riverine vegetation where they rest up during the day. They are best hunted at dawn and dusk and never found far from water.
A wounded Chobe Bushbuck should be treated with respect. They have been known to attack and hospitalise hunters and even kill scent-tracking dogs used in the follow-up operation. When alarmed, these animals will often freeze or otherwise let out a doglike bark and take off into thick cover.
Chobe Bushbuck are classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN, no special hunting permits are required to export a trophy.
