About hunting in Bahamas
The Bahamas, an archipelago of over 700 islands scattered across the Atlantic Ocean, are famous for fishing, but if you thought you couldn’t hunt there, you’re mistaken. You can.
Bahamas on map
The Bahamas lie in the Atlantic Ocean, southeast of Florida (USA) and north of Cuba and the Caribbean. The islands stretch in a long chain from the northwest to the southeast, offering diverse fishing waters from flats and reefs to deep offshore canyons. Many of the islands have birds and feral animals; hunting opportunities are mostly situated on Andros, the biggest and at the same time least sparsely populated island of the archipelago.

Способы охоты
The hunting methods used by the Bahamas residents are typically simple and unrefined. Some videos show them simply riding through the backcountry in the back of a pickup truck and blasting away at birds sitting in or rising from bushes at the side of the road. Feral goats are often hunted by spot-and-stalk, while boars by waiting on them where they feed. The most iconic way of hunting in the Bahamas is, however, the pursuit of the boars with dogs. The local mutts may not look much, but they will find the pigs and hold them in place until the hunter arrives. One seldom bothers to finish the job with a bullet; mostly, the hunters will kill the boar with a knife or sometimes even tie it down and carry it home alive.
