Chapman's Zebra hunting in Namibia

Chapman’s Zebra are a colour variant of the Plains Zebra family. They differ slightly from the Burchell’s Zebra in that both species have shadow stripes, however the Chapman’s has no shadow stripes on the face and neck, along with a more limited species distribution. Chapman’s Zebra are only found and can be hunted on limited concessions in the subtropical Caprivi habitats and rarely found for sale on outfitter’s price lists. As with all Zebra, their stripe patterns are as individualistic as a human fingerprint. Zebras have a habit of standing head to tail with one another to make use of their long beautiful horse-like tails to swat irritating flies from each other’s faces. Although they make fantastic rug mounts many hunters are unable to bring themselves to pull the trigger on these animals as they are too closely related to a domestic horse. Those who have eaten Zebra meat reckon there is nothing better. This species is classified as a Plains Zebra and therefore listed as a species of least concern by the IUCN and no special hunting permits are required.
