With close to 100% shot opportunity, this is the most prime area around. We've seen the monsters in these woods and they're waiting here just for you.

British Columbia offers the highest density of black bears in North America - Don’s territory is no exception. Hunters will leave from Sumanik’s Sanctuary's main camp each day focusing on clear cuts and logging roads. Due to the high density of black bears, a hunter may see as many as 6 – 12 bears each day as they feed on spring grasses and vegetation. Hunts are spot and stalk fair chase, providing opportunities for hunters to harvest personal trophies with some reaching record book status. Spring bears make beautiful rugs and mounts as they still have their winter coats. Color phase bears are seen 22% of the time as well in every coffee flavor - cinnamon, chocolate, vanilla, and of course black. This Region is a two bear area per hunter.

From Vanderhoof B.C,.(central B.C. GMU 7-11,7-12,5-13), head south on Kenny Dam Rd. for 29 km to 4 way intersection, turn left (east). Drive the Kluskus Forestry Service Rd. (FSR) to km marker 59., turn left (south) on Gold Rd, to just before km 4. We are on right side (west) at Sumanik's Sanctuary Guiding Outfitting sign. Driveway is 150 meters long. Pricing is per Hunter. 2nd bear trophy fee is 1,200 cash upon harvest, plus 200 up front for the 2nd tag. An incidental complimentary wolf tag is included. Drawing blood is considered a cut tag.
