Real fair hunt with master of his craft

Hunting New Zealand Tahr in the mountains of New Zealand is a real fair hunt.
David is a great hunter and a true professional. Despite his age, he is incredibly resilient. He easily goes through difficult routes, confidently climbs steep slopes and moves very confidently even with a load of up to 15 kg. At the same time he is always calm, focused and friendly.
He is well oriented in the mountains. David knew exactly where to go. He perfectly feels the Tahr, as if he thinks like a beast: he understands where he can be, when he will come out and how he will move.
The hunt organization was at the highest level. Everything is thought out to the smallest details without unnecessary fuss. You feel confident and calm with him.
After meeting David you want to come back again and again. This is not just a hunt - it is an experience that is remembered for a long time thanks to a real master of his craft.

Bull Tahr Hunt

The hunt was excellent. It was exactly what I was hoping for. David decided on a plan which we were able to execute and it all came together for a great result. It was a fantastic feeling to have the hunt unfold just as we had planned. David was very efficient in field dressing the Tahr and I enjoyed watching him do the job and helping out where possible.

Successful hunt

David was a very talented and well educated hunter and guide for all of this region and other countries as well. He took care of making sure everything was set up and ready to go. From pickup at the airport to getting me to a hotel after the hunt. While on the hunt he can spot animals way before I could just with binoculars from almost 1-2 kilometers away. I’m definitely planning on another hunt with him. In the end it was a successful hunt. I got my stag, not the one we were after but has a lot of character to him and I will proudly hang him on the wall. Bigger one will have to come another day. Second to last day and my knee may not have allowed me another climb on the mountain.
Only thing I can say I didn’t like would be the cold nights lol but I wouldn’t change that for anything. I was warm in the sleeping bag so that’s all that matters.
