Overall a wonderful experience.

We hunted hard amid very difficult weather conditions. Our guide did everything in his power to help us harvest a bear. It was not to be that week but I would highly recommend this hunt, especially if you are a true hunter wanting to enjoy more than just the moment of harvest. I will hunt with John again.

The accommodation was great and the guy is so friendly and helpful.

The guy smokes too much and every time. Even smoked in the the truck while taking us to the blinds or tree stands; which meant we were all contaminated every time. As a hunter, we try our best to do the scene control. But he doesn’t have that. I saw him smoked right just before he walked to the bait sites or even refreshed the baits. And most of the blinds or tree stands are set up too close. I m talking about 20 yards to 30 yards. Maybe good for bow hunters, but not for rifles.

Paul's negative review is untrue, unjust and based on his frustration from not being allowed to shoot cubs per TRO policy and our reluctance to book him again for next year. His incessant use of his iPhone, camera gadgetry and noise on stand accounted for his inability to take a bear. Repeated warnings were ignored. Apparently a first time bear hunter from Texas knows more about bear hunting & behaviors than a Maine guide. Also, clients never are present when we bait sites - just the person who has been baiting them for the entire season. Paul also fails to mention that he had bears on his site, but didn't shoot - he was shining a white flashlight on them when I arrived to pull him out of his blind...after legal shooting light. Super trip with son. Great folks in all areas of the experience! If you enjoy the outdoors a trip to the 'Big Woods" of northern Maine is a treat.

The entire trip. Two bears were legal but I thought they were too small. Super folks in all aspects of the trip. Fantastic Father/Son trip!

I liked the way John treated everyone. The food was great we had steak night and lobster night. Very nice feeling in camp. Plus I got my bear. Was very pleased with the whole hunt.

TRO was a great place to hunt. John has a great set of knowledge and experience. There were a variety of stands and blinds to choose from, each of which presented a great opportunity to harvest the desired animal. The lodging was fantastic! Every meal was delicious and left us stuffed and the desserts had people arguing over who got the first crack at them.

Awesome hunt

The whole experience. John was top notch. This was my very first hunting experience ever, and I brought my son. We had an opportunity on 2 big bucks that happened to show up at the exact time, but my son was a tad overwhelmed haha. The lodge, the food, the company, all were awesome! Highly recommend this experience!
