Quebec and Labrador caribou is a variety of tundra caribou that is characterized by large scale seasonal migrations. After their numbers took an inexplicable surge, the province of Quebec has closed the Quebec and Labrador caribou hunting. However, this variety can still be legally harvested in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Quebec and Labrador caribou hunts start at about 10,000 USD. As a large part of the price comes from the cost of travel to remote areas of Newfoundland, it’s advisable to combine Quebec and Labrador caribou hunting with hunting other species such as moose. Quebec and Labrador caribou is a tundra caribou and hunting depends on whether the migrating herd arrives to the area you intend to hunt. The hunt for Quebec and Labrador is either spot-and-stalk, or, alternatively, the hunter and the guide may try to predict the movement of a feeding herd, get in front of it, and hunt from an ambush. This is the practice that is typically preferred by bowhunters. However, a stalk can turn into an ambush and an ambush - to a stalk, depending on the circumstances.
