Udzungwa Partridge is also known as the Udzungwa Forest Partridge. These Partridges are endemic to central Tanzania and usually only hunted by true collectors. Udzungwa Partridge have bright red bills, a rufous red throat and heavily black-scaled underparts.
Udzungwa Partridge can only be hunted in two locations in Tanzania, namely, the Udzungwa and Rubeho Mountains.
Udzungwa Partridge are found in the thick understorey in montane forests. They occur in small groups and forage in the dense tangles and forest trails. When roosting at night they may be found in small groups or single individuals in the mid-story of the forest trees.
Udzungwa Partridge is classified as an endangered species by the IUCN, no special hunting permits are required besides the standard Tanzanian hunting license which will be arranged by your outfitter.
