Living out on the open grassy mountain slopes these animals are quite easy to spot. They have unbelievably good eyesight and a sixth sense. They are often watching you from a long-distance before you have even seen them. The best is to glass the mountain slopes from a high vantage point or sneak to the crest of a hillside and look over the edge. Nine times out of ten they will be looking back at you and you will then need to plan your stalk very carefully to decrease the shooting distance as much as possible. Wind and snow often play a factor in these hunts making the required long-distance shooting quite difficult.

Why hunt Grey Rhebuck?

This sought after collectors species is not commonly hunted on your first African safari but is on many hunters wish list for those returning to Africa on a follow-up hunt. Considered by many as the most challenging antelope hunt in South Africa. This hunt should be undertaken in your youthful years as getting up and down the mountains can be quite strenuous. This woolly, well-insulated animal makes a fine-looking full mount display. Shoulder and skull mounts are popular alternatives.
