Where to hunt Coati
Coati, or Coatimundi, is an omnivorous mammal not unlike a Racoon. It has a long snout, and a longer tail, and it may feed on both fruit and nuts and on a variety of smaller animals, birds, and insects. It enjoys a wide distribution in Central, South, and North America, where its range stretches in the southern parts of the USA. You may hunt a Coati with an outfitter specializing in predator hunts in the US, or as a part of a hunting expedition to the Yucatan.
Price distribution
Predator hunts in the USA may cost as low as $300 a hunter a day, inclusive of shooting fees. A hunt in the Yucatan is a big-time expedition, that is priced just under $5,000 for a 7-day adventure. Shooting fees come on top of that, with the shooting fee for a Coati being on the order of $400.
When to hunt Coati?
Predator hunts in the USA can happen all year round. In the Yucatan, hunting is mostly limited to the dry season. Bird hunters prefer the spring (March till May), and big-game hunters the fall (September-November), but for Coati hunting it makes no difference.
