Buck Horn Outfitters is a small family owned business, we are about Quality Not Quantity! My husband and I have been outfitting all our adult lives and are always in camp with our hunters, we are also blessed with the crew we have, they have been with us for years, know the area, and are excellent Guides!

About this hunt
These hunts are done from our backcountry camp, it is a 2 hour horseback ride into our camp that sits right on the South Fork of the Salmon River. This camp sits in unit 25 which is a 1 bear area, but it is only a 40 minute horseback ride across the river to unit 20 A where it is a 2 bear unit. On these hunts you can have an opportunity at a wolf also. On these hunts you can spend the day riding, hiking and glassing for Bear or wolves and hit the bait sites in the evenings or spend your day relaxing in camp fishing then hit the bait sites in the evenings! The hunt consists of 5 full days of hunting.

Thanks-enjoyed
Outfitter Tom & Sara were nice to work with & the guides worked hard & took us all over trying to get us on bears. Meals from Sara were delicious & our cabin stay was comfortable too. I’d recommend them to anyone 😊
Although no fault of the outfitter/guides, there was an unusual amount of early Spring snow that seemed to hinder the bears coming out of hibernation.
