About this hunt
Layout boat hunting is an awesome experience and challenge. Shooting from your back as the waves roll you up and down can have even the best shooters humbled. Hiding in plain site birds come into the decoys without a clue and the rest is up to you. We deploy the layout boats to target Sea Ducks and Diver Ducks. Sea Ducks include White winged Scoter, Common Scoter, and Surf Scoter. The Diver Ducks we harvest primarily Canvas Backs, Blue Bills, Buffle Head with the occasional Red Head and Golden Eye. We hunt 2 at a time and rotate after a limit or every 90 minutes. Weather, time of year, and bird activity determine hunting time and location. We travel all over Maryland to keep our clients on the birds. Layout boat hunts generally last 4-5 hours. I hope the birds put on a show for you!

How to get there
Hunting locations vary depending on the hunt you booked and where the birds are holding. Body boot hunts take place on the Susquehanna flats, and sea duck hunts generally take place in the neighborhood of Kent Island or further South in the early season. You will be briefed of when and where to meet the week of your hunt.
