More about us
Our company was established in 1996 and operates in 3 territories.
- I grew up hunting and trapping here in Southeast Alaska. An old man, Clint Fick, hunted bears with me when I was a boy. He had been a taxidermist, as was his son. It is a nice memory of having learned the details of skinning and detailing a hide from Clint; as he was a patient and skilled teacher.
- The old gentleman guide, Ben Forbes, then hired me to hunt brown and black bears when I was twenty. He was about 80, and I had the privilege to be the new eyes in his operation.
- Now I have been at guiding hunters for 33 years. I like dealing with the animals, and I enjoy to help people fulfill their dreams.
- As one hunter told me last Fall,"You are the outfit I am looking for and can hardly find. You are small enough that you have time for me."
- So I am encouraged by the niche we fill.
- On one side I am a fifth generation Alaskan, on the other side I am part Tlingit Native from the area. This is a rich heritage that has helped me know this place.
- I invite you to enjoy the comfort of our fifty foot boat, a warm bunk, and hearty meals that will make up your base camp. You may hunt the islands for brown bear, black bear, wolf, sitka blacktail, or mountain goat. If you desire the exotic colored sea ducks, they are a free add on to your late season deer or goat hunts; when the birds are fresh from the arctic and in full plumage.
- For the fisherman, we offer fly fishing trips for wild steel head or salmon. Summertime offers saltwater fishing for halibut, rock fish, and salmon.
- We operate by USFS special use permit from Petersburg. We are located in the heart of the intricate Alexander Archipelligo and surrounded by the Tongass National Forest.
- Our thirty three years of guiding in Southeast, Alaska has shown us that small parties of two to four sportsmen lends to greater successes. Let our experience be the key to your next great adventure.
About this hunt
This trip offers streams packed with thousands of pink salmon, while you and your guide, with rifles at ready, ease along bear trails spotting coastal brown bears as they feed in and out of the salmon packed waters. Shots average 30-40 yds. so you'll want the finest bonded bullets and a caliber of .300 mag and up. Really good optics are vital, as is a good head lamp. You'll be working your way up a stream in waist or chest waders with good wading shoes that can deal with slick stones and logs. This is a world class trip on Admiralty Island which supports some of the highest brown bear densities in Alaska. Your guide is a Master Guide and has been guiding for brown bear for twenty nine years. This is an trip full of electricity. Seagulls screaming, salmon splashing, and there in the deep coniferous woods pad, many many bears. Average browns go 8 1/2', with large ones going to 9 1/2', Our largest taken being 10.

Excellent hunting experience
Got a Nice Bear
The trip was unique, took me some effort to get the bear. We saw many bears every day and just waiting for the right one. Food on the boat was a lot better than I thought. Guides are very kind and helpful.
No signal the whole time! And I don’t like the rain.
Sitka Deer Alpine Hunt
True trophy hunt with highly knowledgeable and capable outfitter/guide and packer. Full "whatever it takes" effort on their part. Likeable and "easy-to-be-with" personalities. Respected my hunting skills and worked hard to accommodate my personal limitations. Targets mature good-to-great trophies. Very remote.
Had hoped we could have secured air transportation to spike camp; without that, it was a very challenging ascent (and descent), really beyond my capability relative to age/fitness. Need to be in "sheep shape" for this hunt, my bad. If you can handle the physical exertion, it's a great hunt opportunity to get a world-class trophy.
