SIMPLY THE BEST The Greywing Francolin hunt is a walk-up shoot over pointing dogs and has been described as champagne shooting with the “Rolls Royce” of the African gamebirds. English Pointers are used to hunt, point and retrieve the birds. Greywing can be found in coveys of between five and twenty birds, sit tight for pointers and can flush in singles, pairs, or at once. The Greywing hunt takes place in the pristine highlands of the Sneeuberg mountain range north of the historic town of Graaff-Reinet in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, at altitudes of between 1600 and 2100 meters above sea level. You can expect to walk in excess of 7 miles or 10 kilometres per day. You will experience classic shooting to bag one of the fastest upland gamebird in the world while observing endless vistas and breath-taking mountain topographies few travellers will ever lay eyes on. No hidden costs, Booking well in advance is essential, Ethical & Sustainable practices are adhered to. Double guns only on Upland, Sandgrouse, Greywing & Driven hunts! Additional hunting days can be added to any package as per the price list. Enquire about our other Exclusive Wild Bird Hunts DURATION: Minimum 2 hunting days (3 nights). With the day of arrival and departure, this shoot requires 4 days. HUNTERS: Minimum 2 guns. Preferably 3 - 4 guns. EXAMPLE ITINERARY Day 1: Arrive at the specified airport, travel to our main hunting area. Day 2: AM & PM shoot Day 3: AM & PM shoot Day 4: AM shoot. PM depart for the airport. OPTIONAL: $700 daily hunting rate if we use 3-star Greywing Lodge. We reserve the right to change any terms, conditions and prices without notice. Rates at the time of the hunt will apply.
