About this hunt

We offer a unique hunting experience for either first time or seasoned bear hunters and a hunt that can be shared amongst family members or friends. Our bears typically average 250 pounds with exceptional bears harvested each year between 400-600 pounds. We take a lot of pride in our bear hunts and make them very enjoyable to you by providing a hunt that includes meals, lodging, guide, your stand/ blind, bait, transportation to and from the stand, meals, and skinning of your trophy black bear. We lease and hunt over one hundred and fifty stands located on very remote paper mill land. Our sites are baited thirty days in advance of the hunts to insure that the bears are actively frequenting the stands. You will definitely realize the beauty and peacefulness of our hunting areas. We offer both right and left handed tree stands and ground blinds, and only hunt over active baits. After claiming your trophy, the animal is professionally skinned and quartered to your specifications, upon your return to camp. It is then put into frozen storage awaiting your departure. We offer onsite taxidermy service for your convenience as well. We also have excellent trout fishing available to you or you can hunt coyote once you have taken your bear. Four Bear hunting weeks are offered within the season dates. Arrival is on Sunday at noon and departure is on Saturday morning. You will need a big game hunting license and a bear permit. If you are hunting with archery equipment ONLY then you can purchase an archery license and bear permit. You can purchase bear licenses over-the-counter but must show proof of hunting license from your state. Licenses may be purchased online: http://www.maine.gov/ifw/licenses_permits/hunting.htm

Beautiful properties, but saw 0 bucks.

Outfitter and guide were nice guys.

Saw a total of 6 does while on my 3 day hunt. Sat a set for a full day that looked like something a first time hunter would have slapped together. Got the impression the better properties were being saved for repeat clients. Literally half of the guys hunting in the group left early, including myself, due to poor results.

Although I didn't kill a bear all the guides were great and very helpful, they wanted you to succeed and the food was great.

Unique Experience

Our accommodations were very good. The food was also top notch for breakfast and lunch.

Dinner was sub par and I feel like could have been catered to the hunter a little better. I can agree with an outfitters' expertise, but as a paying customer, I would like to have my opinion/thoughts heard and respected.

North Maine woods is a beautiful place. It was a nice trip. There was a few obstacles but otherwise we had a good time. Food, guides, and lodging was all good. Future customers beware, there is a $15 per person per day gate fee that you need to account for. It is not on the website and they only tell you this at the group meeting before your hunt begins so go ahead and bring cash.

- All the guides were nice, knowledgeable, and genuinely wanted you to harvest a black bear. - Food was good. I do wish they served a little more than just sandwich meat and brownies for dinner though. - Accommodations: Depending on where you stayed, it can be nice or bad. (Some camp houses have 10 hunters staying there with one shower and one toilet).

- $15 per day per person gate fee that you are not told about until you arrive. - Waiting to get picked up after hunting. Sometimes could be waiting 2+ hours. (Need more guides) - Only sandwich meat and brownies to eat after hunting. I wish we had something for filling.

Turkey Hunt

The one thing that stood out for me is that Braden my guide on this hunt reached out to me before I arrived. We had a nice chat and he was able to learn a bit about me and I about him prior to my arrival. I also brought my wife along for the ride and Mark and Braden were very accommodating to her. I am sure I will be hunting with these guys again in the future.

Mark runs a top notch outfit in some the best trophy ground in Indiana

We saw multiple bucks during the week, some shot opportunity at shooter bucks but warmer then normal weather had most bucks moving after dark. The sign & trail cams told the story, def TROPHY bucks in the area. 100's of acres of corn & beans with small woodlots mean prime Midwest ground! No doubt I would suggest this outfitter to any one looking for a Midwest whitetail hunt!
